Four Ongoing Competitions That Lovers of Korean Culture Can Participate In

Do you enjoy K-drama, K-pop, K-food, K-beauty, or Korean culture as a whole? Have you been seeking a chance to visit South Korea or to demonstrate your appreciation for Korean culture? Then look no further because there are four ongoing competitions in which all admirers of Korean culture, regardless of nationality, can compete, with each offering incredible prizes, including a fully funded trip to South Korea before the end of 2023.

Talk Talk Korea 2nd Contest: K-Beauty or K-Fashion (July 31 to September 3)

This competition seeks entries that focus on K-Beauty or K-Fashion (traditional or modern), and can be expressed through drawing, webtoon, photography, video, or essay. You can write about what you like about K-beauty or why you think K-beauty is popular around the world in each of these categories. You can also draw yourself in Korean attire, take images of Korean beauty or fashion style, create a personal vlog about k-beauty, or do anything else relating to your passion for K-Beauty or K-Fashion. A total of 80 winners will be chosen for this competition. The first prize winners (8 people) will receive a free trip to Korea (8 nights, 9 days); second prize winners (8 people) will get a Samsung Galaxy Book; third prize winners (12 people) will receive a Samsung Galaxy Tab; fourth prize winners (12 people) will be given a Samsung Galaxy Smartphone; and fifth prize winners (40 people) will get a $50 Amazon Gift Card. For this third contest, you are asked to create content regarding Korean culture using drawing, webtoon, photography, video, or essay. In each of these categories, you can write about the uniqueness of Korean culture, your imagined life in Korea, images from Korean festivals, personal vlogs about K-culture, or anything else relating to your passion for Korean culture. A total of 80 winners will be chosen for this competition. 2023 Korean Literature Review Contest- Dive in K-Literature (July 10 to September 30)

This competition calls on all Korean literature enthusiasts to dive into the world of Korean literature. To enter the contest, you are invited to submit a book review, video, or drawing (poster/webtoon/calligraphy) on any one of these five books: 1) Whale by Cheon Myeong-Kwan; 2) Concerning my daughter by Kim Hye-Jin; 3) If we can’t go at the speed of light by Kim Cho-Yeop; 4) The School Nurse Files by Chung Serang; and 5) Hope is Lonely by Kim Seung-hee. For this competition, a total of 123 winners will be chosen. The grand prize winners (3 people) will get a free trip to Korea; the first prize winners (15 people) will get a Tablet PC; the second prize winners (30 people) will receive an E-book reader; while the third prize winners (75 people) will get $50 Amazon Gift Card. In addition, all the winners will automatically qualify as global ambassadors of the Korean Literature Review Contest.
